so i finally counted my sprockets and its odd.. i think... searched and didnt find it unless i looked past it... 13/40 gearing.... im running 22 inch tall rear tires... whats this work out to for mph??? im planning on going to 20 inch razrs or hole shots come spring.. how will this gearing work out for 20s?? it had 18s on it when i got it

i had 13/40 when i bought mine an switched to 14/40 with 20" 1st is kinda useless as soon as i was rolling i had to shift with the 14/40 the gears are a bit longer an i didnt notice any loss in torque

well technically, bigger tires adds top speed.
i would get a 14t front sprocket nd see how it is and if 1st gear is still unusable i would go down on teeth in the back sprocket like say 14 38

its not completely un useable.. just snapps threw the gear so fast on ice with studded tires, 2nd is the same way ( added more studs tonight and going to buy more tommrow) to solve this problem

Is that primary reduction number correct?? Can anyone verify??

And the tranny reduction....is 6th gear a 1 to 1?? I've never seen the gear ratios for the blaster tranny.

Keep in mind that the effective diameter of the tire when you're on the quad varies whether you're sitting there not moving vs. when the wheels are spinning really fast and moving you at 50+ mph. Then there is the variability of your weight and the drag from the blaster and you yourself! And who knows exactly how many rpms they're pulling (unless you install a tach!). And if your clutch is slipping...yada yada yada.

If you get the variables right I'm sure that the converter is a pretty valid way of estimating your potential top speed.

primary ratio 3.227
1st 3.091
2nd 2.214
3rd 1.667
4th 1.250
5th 1.056
6th .905
with 22"tires and 40/13 gearing @ 8000rpms top speed is 58.27 with 18"it is 47.65
with 22"tires 40/14 @8000rpms it is 62.76 but @10500 it is 82.37
