hey whats up guys. just pasing through sayign whats up. i just recently bought a 97 blaster like 3 months ago.. runs an drives excellent. i bought it from original owner an now i jus put new holeshots on the back... i wanna change the fronts as well an will soon. thing is i wanna remove my spacers but my studs are like a quarter inch fatter then the stock studs on a blaster an there to long, they dont have enough thread to tighten without the spacer an to hold the wheel on... idk what to do.. please help with this.. i wanna sell my spacers as well, they are alluminum, front an backs.. any suggestions. i know it cost like 100 bux for a hole new stud an bolt setup.. maybe somebody could help...

welcome, if you have thicker diameter bolts then your rims have probably been drilled out to accomodate...in fact they will be. not much you can do about that...

take them off, pound out one of your wheel studs, go to your local ace hardware (they used to carry wheel studs, i dont know if they do anymore), and vuala. just like that you saved a bunch of money and time. forgot to mention... get shorter studs

thanks for the idea, but will those studs be strong enough ? they wont break or snap... il try it but idk .. has anyone elsedone this ?

i did a similar thing cause previous owner put nylon spacers on the back of my bike, when i swapped for a larger axle, i got some shorter studs. mine are actually big cap screws cause obviously the hubs are drilled too. basically you are stuck to using those rims unless you can get another set of rims and hubs. i have done that but do not have tire yet!

i rep suffolk county... but im only out there on the weekends.. i live in brooklyn now an visit the fam an friends on the weekends when i come out there an play with my quad

thx.. yes the wheels have been drilled.... in order to get rid of the spacers what should i do...

My wheels are drilled out for my wheel spacers and i used some gread 8 SAE nuts and bolts.. The stock studs are metric but the ribbed end of the studs are closer to a SAE size so the hole that holds the stud in with the ribbed end will fit a SAE bolt better then a metric bolt with no drilling.. So if i was to take off my wheel spacers i would get shorter bolts... The only problem with the bolts is having to hold on both sides to take the wheels on and off..

Welcome! I did a similar thing to 79 bronco, setup i went to lowes and bought longer bolts/nuts Grade 8 to use spacers they are SAE not metric and had no problems with strength. I beat the hell out of them on AWK mountain too! Now that I have Hydros and can't use the spacers, I'm back to original!
