no top end power

okay ive been riding my quad for the past week and there is barly any top-end power my mods are

f7 pipe
uni airfilter
outerwears
290 main jet
18 inch rear tires

I think it is the rear tire size... if i were to get a 14 tooth front sprocket would this help???

I have 18" tires on my blaster and love its snappy power.
I also have a 14 tooth front and a 40 tooth rear.


May want to try that combo to gain some top end.

Power drop

We need more information to help you solve this problem. What happened just before you loss power on the top of the power band? Did you make any changes to the engine? Did you hear anything, just before you felt the power drop? Is it hard to start?
Check your compression; it should be above 120PSI.

compression from 100 - 130 is normal.

90p.s.i. would be hard to start. but 100 is o.k...

yes i think my comp is low I will have to check that

I put on the pipe and tires and it had less top-end.... its as simple as that lol

I think im gonna get a 14 tooth front sprocket and see what happens

gearing isn't going to help a loss of power. going with the different gears will only give u a higher top end SPEED not top end POWER. gaining this speed will actually make it feel like u lost more power along the way...

wait... when you put the new pipe on, you lost power?

did you rejet???? properly????

I gained a hell of a lot of bottom-end power

and lost a ton of top end power

and the jetting seems to be right...... but we only had to change the main jet... do you think that it could be the other jets???

probably not, ur main jet controls fuel from 3/4 to wide open throttle!
