Nitro RC Guys

don't get me wrong man, i do really want this, but don't dare hold it or anything. if someone else off BF or CL wants it and brings you the dough don't hesitate to let it ride bro.

i got a jato 3.3 love that thing. not too expensive. break stuff a lot but always only a few bucks. except when my cousin smashed into a curb at like half speed. :/ that one was like $75. still pretty good for the truck being destroyed. they are a mofo to control but sooo much fun. nothing like a little truck that stands onto the wheelie bar at 50mph when it shifts to second gear :)

Been into R/C's for many years. I have ran everything from 1/18th scale indoor carpet racers to 1/8th scale monster trucks. Nitro is a little more maintenence than electric and dirtier. But electric doesnt make noise and smoke, lol. Its all just personal preference. Traxxas stuff is pretty user friendly and easy to find parts. The revo is pretty much their top of the line but I dont know much about its durability. My buddys T-Max wasnt very durable. Look into a HPI Savage, there are many versions. It has been by far the most durable R/C I have ever owned. I beat the snot out of it and its been great for me!

Electric sucks nitro all the way.
You need one of these I:I

damn PB, that looks like it would scat. i have no idea what i'm looking at though. what's the details on that?

Cause i cant afford to drive it anymore lol

Its a hpi baja with a cc racing 26cc motor that ive converted to nitro.

is that the car you were running in that vid you posted recently? whatever it was it was fast as sh*t and this thing is awesome too.

welp, i picked up the E-Maxx earlier. started going over and taking stock of what i need for it. looks like new bulk heads, a rear drive shaft and maybe a few misc parts.

bad news is i can't figure what model i have and i think it's the brushed model. should still be fun to mess with though.

dunno what dad was thinking, but he put jb weld on it. it's held up fine, but he broke the shaft. this thing may be a little older than i thought too. the box has copyright 2002 on it.

Yup, those are brushed motors. Easy way to tell the difference is brushed motors have 2 wires going to them, brushless motors have 3.

You will have fun with that.
Hells I used to have fun with a mechanical speed controller, 1200mah batteries and a 19 turn double brushed motor. I can see one day soon electrics taking over on the next battery breakthough. They already are the quickest and easiest way to just go out and have some fun.

No doubt it'll be fun. Just need to find out the exact model that that thing is.

Unless you have a sensor brushless motor in which case you have at least 5 and more likely 7 or more (three large and at least 2 small sensor wires) ;) don't forget the old sensor'd models!

@paulie: They've already done it. Brushless motors with Lipo cells are faster and overall more powerful than nitro or 2t r/c vehicles. The last great problem to tackle is charge cycle time.

On most models thats true but not on the Baja :p

The only thing it excels at is being quieter if thats even a plus. It doesn't have the power, the speed, smell, or run time or a gas or nitro baja.

Power and speed are probably fairly close. If you ran them side by side they would probably be about equal in acceleration and top speed.

Of course they don't have the smell or run time, that's the hangup on electrics and pretty much always will be.... at least some of the baja's are straight 2 strokes so you don't have to deal with the nitro slime and horrendous fuel consumption.....

Agreed.
You can't beat electric for the just go and have fun factor.
If you had a baja I no doubt think you would have a gas one though
The motors themselves are frickin fun to mess with :D

i have finally figured out that this thing is the 3906 model. ordered bulk heads, skid plates and alluminum center drive shafts for it. should be here mid week and i'll slap it together and post pics. wish me luck that they fit like their supposed to. that way i can send this thing packin' back to my dad and start the search for a nitro for myself.
