ok here we go , newbe here hope im in the right place I had a blaster engine rebuilt by a guy advertising on ebay nice guy "so it seemed" anyway i got the engine back after so many price increases. Where my old engine had 4 wires to hook up i now have 5 please can someone help ?? also i have 2 small hoses coming out of the bottom end that were not there before , im sure one is to the oil pump, which by the way was suppose to be disconnected and i have no idea where the other or either one goes?? we had a big falling out over the price/delivery and the guy made a comment to the effect that there is something in the motor i need to know about >> kinda like he may have sabbotaged the insides , please can someone help me here

ugh...sounds like you have an 03+ stator now, in which case you just ground that green wire. the hoses should be the return and feed lines for the oil system. do you have tank on the back for oil still? probably where the line goes that you can't figure out.

i would pull the clutch cover and take a look at the oil injector and see whats up before starting it.. while ur in there if he didnt disconnect it do it urself.. also did u pay with paypal? u can always file complaints but who knows if it does anything.. sorry for ur luck dude..

well he was 250 miles from me i delivered the engine he rebuilt it was suppose to deliver it , then wanted to charge me , i called his hand on the agreement, then threatened me physically , keep my engine , tear it down sell the parts, only after i indicated i would advise ebay about it , did he get really violent, kinda scared me!!! anyway i kissed his butttt to get it back, but he did keep all my mounting bolts and did not give me any instructions as to how the different motor hooked up, just a real hot-head , lives in
statesville nc may want to beware, i do appreciate any comments to get this thing running again >>> its really important i get it running before Christmas ---- its for my son 15 yrs old , was into drugs and is now getting on the right track , it would mean so much to him and me to have it ready for the big day,
thanks for any help guys!!

Sorry to hear this story, dude! Hope you get things figured out.

First off, did you pay for this engine rebuild with Paypal? If so, file a complaint right away and you may be able to get some (if not all) of your money back. Also, leave him some negative ebay feedback and warn others to beware.

As for your engine, JonS is right. That 5-wire stator plate is from a 2003+ Blaster, and will work just fine on your bike as long as you run that green wire to a ground somewhere on the engine or frame. As for the hoses, I, too, think they're just leftovers from an oil injection system.

Got any pics? Lets see what you're dealing with here and maybe we can help get you going!

BTW, I'm not a legal professional by any means (Im a firefighter instead! lol), but if you have any of this a-hole's threats on record (email, ebay messages, etc) you could probably get the law after him.

Kinda confused, is this your motor rebuilt? Any reciepts for parts/work done? Hopefully his mechanical skills are better than his customer satisfaction abilities. Which bolts are you missing? Do you have the swinger bolt? Maybe post a thread in the wanted section also. Did you have oil injection hooked up before tearing it down? If you don't have a Clymers there is a download here somewhere. If you keep the oiler be sure to prime the pump correctly. If not be sure to do the delete correctly. Check the thread/vid of engine break-in. Kinda fishy switching stators unless yours was bad?

Rep given for getting son back on track, good luck with keeping him there.

I've heard of that guy before, his name is Ben Dover.

Sorry to hear about this man ... I myself am trying to get my young niece who just moved in on track and I gotta give it up to you for that.

Second ... complain, ebay and paypal whatever avenue you have ... it is too bad you did not come here first so we could point you in the direction of some reputable engine builders.

Lastly, take pics of everything and post them (use tinypic.com and paste the message board code directly in to your post) we can then point you in the right direction.

I am far from any means an expert but if you want you can come here and I'll try to help you get it running properly if you can get it to fayettevile NC, might even have some help from other forum members in the spirit of xmas

Man you guys are awesome < not only are you guys getting me headed in the right direction, your offer to straighten it out is way beyond what i really expected. i hope all who gave me advise reads this reply, not really "savy" in the PC field. and the rebuilder lives in Statesville N.C. and his name is Don Reed. i think he is probably an ok rebuilder but his people/ customer skills are lacking. and yes i paid him for the build 600$ cash dont know if this is cheap or expensive. i have a limited amount of $ and the final straw was he wanted 100$ to deliver it to me , i called his hand and he exploded, that is when the threats started
thanks again guys , i will try to load some pics and let you see the quad its really a nice ride

hey Bob i live in Sneads Ferry N.C. right on the coast

I'm sure the NC boys will get ya going! That's a little far from Pittsburgh, PA!

Seafood...MMMMMMMM! I:I

Ya may want to Pm a few guys your number, we do get jackwagons on here occasionally!

Once the cover is off, just a simple pin and two screws to remove the pump, if ya don't have a block off plate to cover up the hole where the pump sits just take the plastic gear off the pump, plug both lines on the pump, and premix 32:1.

hey anyone i have a tube from under the carb , i assume coming out of the crank case does it go anywhere in particular or does it just vent case
thanks, also the drive sprocket is fastened but does rattle around a little , normal?
the wiring was right on , i have a match for all but the green wire so i will run it to ground
question i have done a lot of research , and i am told to mix 50X1 , so i need to mix 32X1 correct?

32:1 is what most use alot of debate on that subject... anyhow the hose that is on the bottom of the carb is a vebt hose and just hangs down by the swinger. There should be a hose from the clutch case to the carb -plug that port on the carb if your premixing. and you can remove those two hoses from the clutch cover and use some RTV to plug the holes or get some plugs at local autostore in the help section!
