Ordered a seat cover already bc my friends were ripping on me that the flames make it faster B) haha but anyway I'm about to break it all down and paint it. thought about powder coat but not worth it for me bc I don't want the prettiest bike just not yellow so what steps should I take from here, what paint brand clear coat all that?? I like it and it is a proven fact that flames make it go faster and each sticker you have adds 5 extra horse power

Totally.

I dont think the yellow is bad, but some shades of yellow are.

You will need to sand blaster it (get the vin #) and get it powder coated...

Powder coating is the only way you can keep paint on a frame of a blaster.

As for painting the A-arms, you can NOT powder coat those. So the best thing would be to get some nice aftermarket ones.

Thanks for the advice not rushing the process then powder coat it when it's time I'm thinkin nerf bars, new rims and tires to start any advice on that

before you spend money on mods make sure your motor is leak tight or yours will blow up like mine.... also check your compression and jetting. buy a leaktester for 30 bucks from member awk08. after that all checks out i would recomend getting a head rechamber. and also a new airfilter and remove the airlid.

Agreed what aftermarket parts u think i should start with? I should spend some more of my money on parts

id get hydro brakes first and then works front shocks and 400ex rear then a head mod and have it ported AND BEFORE ALL OF THAT IT NEEDS TO BE LEAK TESTED

Wow I was deff jumping the gun I would of never thought about that and I'm lookin into all that now!! I'm good with researching on everything before getting into it. ill do the compression test tomorrow and see if I can get my hands on a leak tester or make one, otherwise ill buy that one and btw thanks for all the help it really helps I:I

I got the hydro brakes they just weren't on in the pic I just need break pads for them. But the stock 400 ex shock will bolt right on?

Can check that what is good? Your blaster?

Leak test (7psi for 15+ min)

Comp test (120 good, less than 100 = rebuild)

Take off carb, clean throughly, blow air through ALL passages. Check jets, buy genuine mikuni if you need to get some.

Clean air filter, replace if its super bad.

Check frame for any cracks on the bottom front area, you never know i guess

Nice machine. My advise is leak test and just go over everything. It's better peace of mind knowing what's good, what's wrong and seeing it with your own eyes than taking someone's word for It. Im meaning check bushings, bearings, breaks, change plug, check or change tranny oil, clean or replace air filter, check the jets, clean the carb, , grease er up and leak down test. plug chop to confirm your jetting is on. You can have awesome rims and tires, but If you have a leaking crank seal, those tires are going to be super new cause you will be doing motor work instead of riding!!! Hope this helps. Any questions the good people of blaster forum are always more than willing to help.

A plug chop is a way to confirm you jetting is on. There are some good threads on here that explain it. Thats down the road after you get everything else done!
