Yea stock for stock, a new YFZR will kick the sh*t out of a 250R. Now once you get into mods and what mods you choose to do, that's only a limit of $$$ and engineering. In that case a 250R can be equal with modded YFZs and the rest fo the 450s.

True that...Once you get passed the pussy "Bolt on" mods, not much is going to keep up with a 250r...or any 2 stroke for that matter...
In dragging maybe. In terms of track power, you can get 60hp of REAL and USEFUL power from modern 450s with engine work on the stock bore. You are one lucky mofo if you can get 60hp from a stock bore 250R IN TERMS OF RACING POWER, NOT drag power. Personally, I've never seen it. To put that into context though, most of the factory racers are in the 55hp arena of power, so power only becomes important to a point. There is also such a thing as too much power. People really get too infatuated with power which ultimately leads to them losing when other people have broader powerbands and have a more tractable quad when racing and/or invest more money in chassis/suspension than engine alone.
