^ something like that.Ok im looking for around a 400 450 quad.what would be a good one.I have been looking around at suzuki honda and yamaha. But leaning more towards a yfz450r or a z400.What your guys opion on this.

yfz450 ma its a beatiful bike and runs super clean but what are you gonna be using it for , it could help us respond better

If you're getting new and it's for trails, YFZ450x. If not for trails, get the YFZ450r. Either way, I'd say YFZs.

well for flattrack i would prob say the yfz. you need the extra power. if it was just tight trails where you dont need a ton of power (dont get me wrong there is still alot) and reverse the z400 would be the better bet

well a 250 outta the question becayse i need something with sh*t and get.cough cough 450 cough cough

Sorry bud, but a trx250r would hand a yfz its ass. I mean the yfz along with every other current quad took there basis from the 250r. And a big bore 250r would lead the pack against almost anything. IMO one of the fastest quads with the greatest potential. It was sad that it was in production for such a short time.

250Rs still do take a lot of work mod for mod to stay with 450s and it's costly. This is one reason a lot of the old R owners are switching over to 450s. In stock trim a 250R really isn't that fast....hell it's not much faster than a 400ex.

really? I didnt know that. Never even seen one in person. I was always told they were they end all, be all quad. Guess thats only with the esr 330 kit and bout 7-10 grand worth of other stuff.

They are a great quad, don't get me wrong........I wouldn't mind getting one down the road simply on the basis they are so much lighter than newer quads, but you pretty much summed it up. A modern bolt on 450 makes 50hp quite easily and already has a lot of little crap on it that saves you money. A 250R on the other hand has a hell of a hard time reaching 50hp even after porting on the stock bore....keep in mind, I'm talking porting for racing, not dragging. This is how the Eddies Sanders explosion came about along with CT, LRD, etc big bore kits and cylinders with different port mapping.

oh i see. I was always a little skeptical when people told me a 250 r stock would kill a yfzr stock. Reason being a budy of mine recently bought a brand new yfzr and that thing flies and it is bone stock. Fast as sh*t and hits jumps like a dream. But i figured ive never ridden a 250r and its 2 stroke so maybe its that badass. But i still want one just so I could give her 10 grand lol.
