Here is what I am running. I have an 03 blaster with an Uni Filter. No air box, 4 degrees advance, And Carbon fiber Reeds. I know this is tough and a very general question but around about idea would be great. What Size main should I be running? What about pilot? and Currently im on the 3rd clip of the needle(vitos).

stock carb........... roughly 250 main, stock 32.5 pilot, 3rd clip position IMO,
only the most modded blaster may need a bigger pilot in a stock carb
and why a vito's needle ??????

Well I ordered a jet kit it happened to be a vitos. I really dont think I needed it now. Not being a sharp shooter but isnt the pilot a 23.5? The smallest Main jet in the kit was a 290 and thats what I put in it. I think I am way off here! Damn it

Here is stock info directly from manual:

Main #220
pilot 32.5

03-06
Main #230
pilot 32.5

Air screw 1.5 turns out

Are you running stock pipe? Awk is correct about pilot, and why the timing advance?

Here is a sight about jetting Mikuni specifically: http://www.iwt.com.au/mikunicarb.htm

My buddy has open air box twin air filter at 1700ft elevation and used a 240 main with stock pilot and stock pipe

Ok, So obviously with my mild mods I really didnt need the kit from Vitos. I think I will install the stock Pilot jet, Run the stock needle and just bump up the main to a 250 or some where around there.

you got it, that'll run, but do a wide open throttle plug chop to verify that main
seach on here for "plug chops" if you dont know how

PikledBeats-yes currently Running stock pipe. I am search of a cheap aftermarket pipe. maybe someone on here has one they want to sell? I hope so! I was reading about the timing advance and everyone seems to say great things about it. I Just opened the holes on the stator so turn it so if its not a good idea I can return it back to Factory.

what would that vitos needle do for you? jw

I can't remember all the details specifically as they don't sell it anymore to my knowledge, but it is a richer needle in terms of taper. I'm not sure on the length and diameter....probably the same as the stock needle. I know the taper is a lot richer though. This partially explains why I run such a small main on a ported Blaster. If I was running a stock needle, I would probably have to go up 1-2 mains.

I held it up next to the stock one, It is just a bit longer it seems, and Deff a different Tapper, The Vitos is very thin towards the bottom and comes to almost a sharp tip.
