I don't think he could have becuase of his tires, if I remeber right thats why he didn't like the stock ones.

i was going to fab up some yfz heel guards but i searched around and found some i liked. i would run no heel guard but i dont want to lose a leg to the tire!! i was going to use the metal he used in the pic but i didnt know where to find it.

I see yours are the same left and right
the sock ones have different shape (so to clear the kick start pedal )
doesm't yours interfer with this ??

nope. no problem with the kickstart. actually the stock kickstart side heelguard has the dip close the frame so you have room for your foot to go in not the kickstart.
