MY 4.5 FT homemade ramp

just seen this thread after i already asked about it in my reply to your graphics thread lol, is it for bike or your ltr or both? <-- that's what i asked so you don't have to answer twice haha. and i hope you're adding to the bottom and not using those boards to mount onto the ramp. and like the others said, vid is a must (pics would be nice to but i'll be satisfied with just a vid)! :D

I am assuming you left the quad in gear to set it up for the pic? Knowing how suzuki ltr trannys break you may want to consider a ratchet strap to the front bumper. I hope you have gusset kits on the quads. Good luck and cant wait to see the vid.

Thought it was steep til you said downhill ramp. Being that I'm a carpenter I can tell you that you need diagonal bracing to avoid collapse, run a strut from the middle of the ramp (on sides) to the lower corner of the high side, thereby creating two triangles, which is the only immoveable geometric form. I would also stake it to the ground so it doesn't move any when you hit it.

It's all fun and games 'til someone gets hurt. Then it's hilarious :o:DI:I

JMHO, your results may, and will vary. :D

needs cross braces so it doesn't collapse, need to fasten it down, needs a bottom part, needs a lander, and it needs some grip tape or some sort of stuff to grip on cause tires don't tread well on wet wood.....

i plan on building 3ft and 5 ft fmx ramps when my mom moves our horses out of the front field at my house,
plans like this are what i'm gonna base my ramps and landers off http://freestylemtx.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=121137&stc=1&d=1257322362

man i gotta find some pictures of the metal fmx style kickers i had at my uncles house a few years back or atleast the plans for them things . i think they are just what your looking for

as i said it was not finished , its nearly done now just need to make a thing to stop it tipping when the quad preloads

thanks :) also i put chicken wire down for grip ,not sure how it will hold lol

not a bad idea, pick up some of the largest washers u can find and some screws and screw the wire down, i'd keep an eye out for wire breaks in the future, and also, not a bad idea to throw some sand or a small ammount of dirt on it....

no one here has ever purposely hit a berm going straight with throttle? alot of the jumps here are steep and short like that. you can get mad air LOL. its the landings you gotta get right!

I've hit berms with throttle following my buddy who rides dirtbikes and used to race expert class in the con US. he was telling me to follow him so I did, this was like my 1st few months of riding lol. it was a bit steeper and more like a 1/4 pipe shape but you DO actually go forward with enough speed lol. he then told me afterwards, he gives me credit as he wouldn't do that on a quad and didn't think I was really gonna follow him lol
