Metal Shavings

I am doing an oil change on my 2002 blaster and there are metal shavings in the oil pan. It came out of my drain plug. What is that?!

A Problem , Sounds like you need to take the kicker off and the Clutch side cover for an inspection !

When was the last time the oil was changed ?
If the oil has never been changed or like a long time ago.

Sometimes what you see is material from worn clutch fibers, but they are not usually metal.

i just did an oil change like 2 weeks ago and there was no shavings. but what would cause them to go in there? like a way you ride it?

Well I've seen a kicker spring come loose and rub up against the Clutch basket , that made shavings in the case and also wore out the clutch basket

seen the balance shaft gear come apart too

you will have to pull the foot peg, kicker arm and clutch cover to find the culprit. all sorts of things can get out of wack. are these steel shavings or alluminum. got any pictures. I might be able to help ya more
