The red light on the handle bar of my 2000 Blaster is on, and the rear tank of oil is about 60-70% full. Why is the light on? Am I actually low on oil?

Another thing- when I ride I get a lot of oil on my leg that leaks from where the two parts of the exhaust meet. Is this normal?'

Are there any noises that I will hear if the engine is getting poor lubrication?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge of these things, this is my first quad and I don't want this one to be the first one with a screw up the engine on. Thanks for the help.

it is definitly not normal to be getting oil on your leg unless the oil injection systme messes up which it usually does and leads to a blown engine. what you should do is buy a oil injection block off kit. then start premix

the oil light is a joke just keep and eye on the tank and make sure oil stays in it.....as for the exhaust u can get a piece of radiator hose and hose clamp it on

where in connecticut you live? close to the mass/r.i./conn line?
I live in Northwest Connecticut near the NY border.

The smoke that comes from my quad is still pretty gray, do you think that it's still getting enough oil?

How can I fix the problem I'm having on my quad? I just rode it for like 20 minutes and the oil coming out of the exhaust is coming out in bigger drops. How can I this without just using blended gas? It wouldd be really annoying to premix my gas all the time.

make sure all the hoses are not clogged, if you run out of oil your engine will seem to perform great, then overheat followed by seizing up. it is definitely worth your time to buy a block-off kit. as far as getting oil on your leg, use a piece of radiator hose and two hose clamps between the two pipes to keep it sealed up, much better than stock clamps.

I tried google for a stock oil injector for a 2000 Yamaha Blaster and I couldnt find one. Does anyone know where I could find one?

ebay usually has them. An oil injector from any blaster will work if thats the route you want to take.

yep everytime i ride my blaster i'm taking a gamble with the oil injector...... but my dad "thinks" that by 06 which my year is they perfected it and it wont mess up..... but i tell him that thats what everyone says and then the topend fries....... but the light dont matter just watch the tank and you'll be fine....as for the oil yeah my radiator hose clamp thingy works great and have had no problems...a blaster in my opinion is not a good first bike to where a 250ex is but it'll do!
