I recently checked out my rear axle and noticed that it is quite shaky. I Uncle saw this as well and said he that the bearings are worn. I am really not experienced with this kind of stuff so a little help would be nice.
Thanks, Joe

hi
Recently did the same on mine.
I removed the carrier from the swinger, easier to work on
When refitting the seals, dont push them al the way in, leave them, just flush with the carrier lip, the metal cover will push it in when you tight the axel bolts.
If you push them all the way in it will create a 2-3mm space between the cover and the seal, this is perfect to trap water and dirt in, witch will eventualy seep inside to the bearing.
I also agree you should be generous on the greese, but try not to get any on the brake disk.

Thanks a lot for the tips guys, I got it finished today and it was pretty smooth going except for getting the old bearings out of the hub, obviously the bearings have never been changed before since the oil seals were basically disintegrated.
