leaded gas?

lead is used to increase octane rating. it also works as a lube.
i have ran turbo blue race gas in many quads. turbo blue is a leaded high octane gas. never had a problem.

if you do use it, i would suggest not use a lot of first.

also why were you using in a 88 truck? i am pretty sure they no longer sold leaded gas for public usage.

It had a high comp head. It was my uncle that said to use it since he built the motor....

lead additive will help if you have knocking. personally i wouldn't really use it instead of getting higher octane. but it really wont hurt your engine if you use a little.

Leaded gas was used in cars pre 1970 due to the brass valve seats. Emission laws kicked in in the later years 72-73 and lead was removed from gas due to high nox ratings. Running leaded gas in a car with a cat will trash the precious metals inside. What ARE you doing running it in a 88

i would suggest putting a little in, like 100:1 not a lot. see if anything bad happens. there shouldnt be, but best to make sure.
