well, i finally had some time today to get the pilot jetting right, i think, this carb had a 48 pilot...too rich,
put a 42 in it.......too lean, when i would take the choke off it would start to rev, shut it down real qwick
put a 45 pilot in it, warmed it up while watchin it still smoke slightly at idle, took the choke off, adjusted the idle down at the carb, and also at the thumb throttle, rev'd cleanly, turned the airscrew in to 1 turn out, slight hesitation when stabbed qwickly, might need the clip dropped 1, went down the alley and down to a straight stretch, eased into it to about half throttle and up thru the gears HOLY FREAKIN sh*t, it was pullin the front tires up clean into 4th gear, at half throttle
this mo-fo is gonna rip, just as ken said!!!!
no dyno charts, just "the man in the machinists apron" word
feels absolutely amazing, i think i may have to steal the +4 swinger from the blaster i got my son, i dont think this thing will be safe without it???
amazing work ken!!!!!
my boys cylinder will be getting boxed up and sent to ken this week, wished my son had more experience, i'd have him perform his magic on it too, but better just get the boring done for now, he couldnt handle all this power
so final report card on this is A+++++++ work, at an affordable price, and awsome return time
this thing is gonna be beast, and i dont even have it tuned completely yet, and only half throttle feels
FREAKIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awesome fed. once i get a little more time with my butt on the seat i may get an extra cylinder and send it out to minimize the down time...glad its workin out for you man

get some vids... lol
sounds like your real happy with it good deal.

extremely happy with the power and ken's service as a whole, great dude, great communication, and speedy gonzales return
now all's i need is them pink handgaurds of the mrs. hahahaaaa

yes please.. what style porting... price..

id like to set up a fresh jug with a fresh stock bore to swap onto mine... but im at a toss up as all the builders are building some fast sh*t.... all i know is i want a wild stock bore blaster....

well, i wanted a wild port job also, but ken talked me into just going moderate, to save reliability, he said the more you cut out, the less support the piston has, and the cylinder will flex more when it gets hot, and this causes premature piston and ring wear, and told me to trust him, that it will "rip" when he was done, but still be reliable and not need rebuilt so often
/\/\/\/\ i think i got thet right??
but then he told me he went way wider and taller on the intake ports he gave his bike, and also did the auxillary boost ports, he wasnt worried about rebuilding often but wanted max power. so he is capable of going as wild as you'd like
so best bet is to just call him and talk about what you want, he will answer any and all questions and has tons of knowledge about this, his # is on his site, along with tons of good info
Ken OConnor Racing, High Performance Motocross Engines, Performance Modifications, Motorcycle valve jobs, Motorcycle Crankshaft Rebuilds, Motocross Cylinder Porting, Motocross Cylinder Head Porting

he also found during this build, that my 8 month old bore job i got done here in town was 5 thousands too big and was a ticking time bomb, so i had a new wiseco piston kit shipped straight to him and had it rebored to fit
now we are going to use that leftover "like new" piston in my sons cylinder
all of this was done and returned to me in under 3 weeks time, i've heard some other builders are backed up to 6 weeks return time
and his very reasonable prices are listed on his website also

heres the pics he sent me before shipping, but they looked way better in person, awsome work!!!!!!

omfg and you say im tarzan lofl

93 pump gas
an yb, thats all you could come up with?? i expected sumthin better, and deserve it too!!!!
i'm tired of the other builders gettin all the attention around here,
the new kid on the block knows his sh*t and built me a beast, so i'm gonna swing like tarzan, beat my chest and make monkey sounds too, ahahahahaaaaa

Can't wait to see that thing rip. How is your foot btw? I have been checking out alot of port/milling work because I want to have some done as well(taxes next month FTW:D). IMHO no matter which builder i choose I will be happily ripping, so it will come down to price/downtime/exp of the builder.
