So I bought this Blaster, my first 4 wheeler. I know nothing AT ALL about 4 wheeling just what I do in my truck (Toyota Surf or 4Runner in the states with 33" tires and a turbo Diesel engine). So I paid $500 for this thing and the previous owner said all I needed was to get a wiring harness and I am good to go. Well afterI bought and installed it it still didn't fire. I took it off base (I live in the Northern part of Japan, My wife is military), and the guy told me that the engine had no compression. He took it apart and the piston looked bad! It smelled of murnt crap. This thing hasn't been ran in years he tells me. As it turns out one of the previous owners messed up the engine completely. I need a new piston, seals crank bearings, and it needs to be bored. Its going to cost me around $600. I e-mailed this guy and no response though its been about 12 hours. I'm just pissed that this guy lied to my face like that maybe he didn't know or didn't care to know but whatever. Just my little piece of personel frustration. Glad to get it off my chest.

that does suck man. when you get some free time look around on here and you should be able to figure out how to do the rebuild by yourself if you wanted to save some cash

i agree with that ^^^^^ if you dig around here and fleagay you should be able to rebuild that badboy for less than $200. does that make getting hosed feel better? well no but at least you could get a running wheeler for $700 total not too bad at all really.

id say 600 is a little to much for a rebuild it should be able to be done for 200 to 250 the most.. good luck if you have any ?s feel free to ask.. im sure any of these guys will be glad to help

keep in mind hes in japan prices might be diffrent there might not be alot of people that do the work supply an demand is a biotch I:I

thats what i hate about buying things that they say they know whats wrong with it. anyone can plug the cdi into a wall outlit and fry the thing and tell the next guy its wiring when the transmision blew the hell up.

I think it should be cheaper over here too. However the cost of living is way higher over here than it is in the states. That and I live in a little town, If I lived in Tokyo it might be cheaper, but all of my parts have to be shipped out of town which is the main problem and the reason for higher prices.

yeah, you could send your engine to wildcard flotek or any of those boys and have it done nicely for cheaper. talk to him i think he would hook u up
