Hey everyone, Ok so I was riding last night and I noticed i was pushing gear oil thru the bottom gasket between the jug and the bottom end. So my dumb butt continued riding, then it started acting funny and made some odd noises and then shut off. I towed it back to my garage and noticed the jug came loose from the bottom end. How bad is this ? and do you think it damaged anything ?

Thank you I:I

if you have gear oil coming out there, have other problems. but you most likely mean premix oil, but you could have damaged a piston, damaged your crank.

sheeblast, thank you for the quick reply. I think my gear oil problem could be due to me over filling my crankcase, wich i think I did. But I don't think it should have came out of the gasket. well atelast untill i noticed you could move the jug side to side, and one of the nuts is missing. the sh*tty thing is i just rebuilt my trenga racing motor acouple days ago. and my spare motor is completely shot.

Mind you this was the first time i have ever built a quad motor, but it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. a piston being damaged wouldnt be so bad, just as long as my crank is ok i will be happy.

That's sounds like a major air leak to me. Do a compression test.you may have run it lean and burned a piston.

Dakota, I will do a compression test later on and report back with the verdict. I hope i have not damaged the crank due to the jug nuts coming loose the way they did and i continued to ride it till it just bogged down and stalled.

If you over filled it,it should be coming out around the exhaust and be all over your front frame. That's what happens to my first one when I got it.

I know it was pouring white smoke out my exhaust. and i noticed it all over my lower end. then the jug came loose as i was riding =[

This is my first blaster and only my second quad. my first was a kawasaki bayou 220 haha, only had it for 3 days and gave it away and bought the blaster as it was not what i was looking for.

Woops, i def over filled it, i went past the window alot.

roughly how much did you put in? the correct amount is roughly 2/3 of a quart. what is a trenga racing motor and is that for your blasty? what all is done to it? the jug coming loose is a pretty bad deal man, i would be real surprised if you didnt cook the piston at least, hopefully not the crank as well. i would pull the topend and take a peek, definately check the crank for major blueing and bearing play also. good luck dude

If your jug came lose like you said. Do ancompression test and replace the gasket with a stock one.make sure you tighten the head to the specs given in the repair manual.

I might have put in over a quart. A trenga racing motor is a built motor from trenga racing (wich is now out of business) yes it is for my blasty. all i have is a full dg exhaust, 240 jet. and that is it. i will pull it back apart tonight and check for blueing of the crank, and i will check the rod for play in the bearing. i just hope i have not damaged the crank, as i am not sure on how to take the lower end apart.

thats bad news bears man, so i am saying u got a bad crank bearings will be shot, bad crank seal, torched piston, and scoring on the cylinder, definitely need to tear it apart

Honestly I do not have a repair manual for my blasty. My buddy told me to just tighteng the bolts/nuts untill they were tight. that there was no need for them to be tqd. and when i called the local dealership, they told me they were unsure of the tq specs for my blasty. so they where no help at all.

This is why my favorite advice is read before you ride.

I would have, But i do not have a manual. A a friend of mine use to work at troy city garage, a atv/dirtbike/sled repair and retail shop. and he said it all was good go ahead and ride it. sooo takign his so called expert advice it went poop.

Thank you whitty, I will right that down for when i tear it down and if i have to rebuild it. I am going to buy a parts blaster tonight for $200 it comes with 3 top ends 2 bottom ends 3 sets of plastics, 3 seats, everything minus carb. so if this 1 is shot hopefully i can get somethign going with the parts from that 1.

Is it hard to tear the bottom end completly down ?
