jet sizeing for this pipe?

Ok instead of getting the F7 exhaust for almost $340.00 my friend is parting out his blaster and is selling his bills pipe to me for $50.00. I went on bills pipes website and it said use 270 main jet and 1 size up from stock for pilot jet? Is this correct? Also, is a hex jet and a main jet the same? im asking cause im buying all the stuff off of vitos performance and they only have pilot jets and "hex" jets. please reply asap

yes mikuni carbs have the hex main jets. 270 sounds like a good start.

if bills website say 270 use a 270 then you can do a plug chop and see if the jetting is correct. not running to rich not running to lean you want to get a mocha type color. also i have an f7 pipe and i didnt change my pilot jet so i dont know if you have to change it, so dont take my word on it jetting is a trial and error process. and yes they are hex jets

Since its getting to be winter season, every morning i ride it, i let and sit at idle and give short revs every 30 seconds until warm, i dont wanna blow my motor just because of a 4 dollar i couldve have prevented. I'd so like to go by what they say

Sounds good to me . Im getting a 270 main (hex) and a 35 (next size up) pilot jet. Is this good?

how many degrees is it when you start it? i know that its becoming winter here so i usually jet up 1 or 2 size higher than normal.
