jet kit

I haven't heard anything "bad" about them. The real problem is the one-size-fits-all approach. They are selling one set of jets like it's going to be good for everyone. Even after you put them in you might find you need a different setup. On the other hand, if you have found that you are running lean, the kit would probably still be a plus.

i cant see why there would be problem with the actual jets. i think the problem people have is with the needle that comes with it.

Jetting is worth the time but can be tedious. Read the jetting guides on this forum 2-3 times to get a good idea of it.

If that needle makes it rich/bog in the middle like Noober said, then raise the needle clip a notch to lean it out. It really is a process that isn't as simple as a kit, but it might provide you with a good baseline. How much fuel you need ultimately depends 100% on what mods you have and where you are (altitude).

oh okay the only engine mods i plan on getting are an ,airfilter, pipe ,and probably some reeds...

Oh, well like I said, I don't really know much about the Vito's kit, but if you are still essentially stock, I would wait until I had at least the pipe and filter before worrying about jetting. Doing those two things will drastically change your fuel requirements and then your Vito's kit will be useless. I'm assuming the Vito's kit is just to fine tune a stock quad.

Oops, looked it up. I see the Vito's kit is to let you run an open airbox. That's a worthwhile goal even with out a new filter and pipe. That airbox lid is incredibly restrictive.

OMG yes. I have a slightly larger carb, but jetted perfectly now for my combo. I put the lid on for washing to keep water out (about all it's good for) and forgot to take it off the other day. Instantly fouled the plug, wouldn't run for sh*t. Amazing what a difference it can make.

So, the opposite is true if you run without it and don't properly jet for it. Runs great until the piston seizes. A local bike mechanic told me he see's about one Blaster a month come in needing a top end cuz somebody took off the lid without rejetting.

So what the hell, buy the kit and have fun. Just remember to jet again after you add that pipe and filter.

alrigt thanks for all the help i just got my blaster last month!! before i had a lightly modded four stroke and had never heard of jetting... thanks again
