Is Toomey B1 Loud?

Hi, I just ordered a Toomey B1 pipe kit.. but after seeing a lot of movies I am now concerned its gonna be too loud??!?

It really sound loud compared to stock.. and you can hear it far away...

Can anybody tell me how loud it is ? stock, low, middle, high?


IF it is loud, can i do anything about it? pack it with something?

why its awesome to have a loud pipe! i have the lrd and i love the sound change from stock, and yeah toomey is quite throaty sounding

I had it and absolutely loved it. Its was middle to high buts its a nice loud. If you want to make it a little quieter pack the silencer with some steel wool. Youll love it though, trust me.

I'm thinking of getting a Toomey b-1 in the summer. Right now I have a pro circuit pipe and silencer. Its the model with all the spark arrestor and noise redcution sh*t. How much of a power gain would I be looking at with the Toomey?

the tommey are not that loud compared to other pipes iv heard tommey does sell this hush silencer for them that they claim you wont loose power but will have a reduction of about 5db if i remeber correctly. for how much you will gain i forgot since they took the old site down and powerbrokerz wont show them any more and they just jacked the price up by 60 bucks!!!

I dont thin your going to get much more power out of the Toomey over the Pro Circuit, I'd just stick with the Pro Circuit.

just about every aftermarket pipe makes a good amount of noise, and it seems the pipes that make the most hp are the loudest. my vitos pipe was loud brand new and a year later its 2x if not more louder. need new packing lol

Yeah man I agree with you. my powercore2 silencer is defiantly louder than stock, but it has a deeper tone and more of a brapp, it doesn't sound flat and loud like the fatty with the stock silencer.

Hey rocky Im lovin my vito's! Dont worry you hear 4-strokes before you hear a 2-stroke because higher pitched noise doesnt travel as far as a lower bass like tone. example is if your computer speakers have a sub.. turn it off and walk upstairs with the volume just loud enough to be heard comfortably while sitting at the comp and walk upstairs... Then turn on the bass... What will you hear??? that thump thump thump thump

Is a Toomey pipe even "packable" ? And what the procedure for packing it IF is even possible? And finally, what kind of material is suitable for this ?

steel wool.. or silencer packing.. if your worride about loud run the toomey front pipe with the stock silencer on the rear. i think once you get it on you will forget all about loud.. i can bet you its no where near as loud as my fmf!!! fresh packing whe i got it. took it apart and pulled 90% of the packing out cuz it wasnt loud enough... in my driveway you have to yell to talk to someone when mine son cold idle...

Well i looove a great engine sound, but i really wouldnt like to yell at eachother to talk .. that too loud imo. Is has to be comfortable to. I love horsepower, and great exhaust note... but not "make the most noise as possible". The reason i am a little concerned with the sound is people in Denmark where i am from are pathetic... I mean they take it very seriously if a machine makes a lot of noise AND are not allowed on the street.. they dont hesitate to call the cops! .. and they will take your ATV to the impound.. and maybe youll never get it back. The area where you actually can ride your atv are EXTREME limited! .. i mean the USA is dreamland when it comes to trails, offroad, big forrests... salt lakes, hills, moutains, whatever! ...we dont have any of that i Denmark. It actually sucks bigtime!


BUT:

If i use steelwool, isnt that easy to "burn off" .. ? Does the steelwool has to be very fine? og very rough and thick?

Silencer packing? What is that? and where to buy?

mines only that loud on cold idle.. half chokle which idles high,, at warm idle its fine.. and barks wehn you jump on the throttle!!!

use fine steel wool like 4-0 package wil say 0000 for the grade..

or fmf sells packiing right on there site... i have the original power core and with ful packing tis about as loud as stock with the cap off the back of the silencer, hence why i took alot of the packing out

this was stock head pipe with a answer spark arrestor with NO packing it in...

sounded good noticeable but not to loud.. as you notice my cold idle's are loud lol
