lads is it necessary to use the clutch when up shifting i like to do it because its quicker but i am afraid i will wreck the gears or something... so is it necessary

thanks,
Dunney

i only use it for take off and down shift. same with my motorcycle, only use it for downshift and take off, the quad i have had and the clutch is 3 yrs old, and the bikes clutch is 5 yrs old. no problems for me, to each is own...

yeah and i race too, lol so i ride mine hard, my 600rr only has 20k, mostly because of the military and my 7 mos deployments. lol

as long as ur not shifting liek in a drag race ur good, for leisure trail riding its fine to let off the gas a little and slip it in( giggity!) but when i'm dragging a buddy or riding aggressive, a clutch is a must
