So I finally got my blaster back and figure I have maybe 3 to 4 weeks of riding left before I put it up for the winter.

I want to put together some inexpensive mods.I was thinking about starting with new sprockets. I won't be running drags much but will be running a track with medium side straight aways and a few hair pin and 90 degree turns.

I have tried to look through as many threads as I possibly could before I asked but, any suggestions?

why put it away for winter??? winter is one of the best times ever to ride!!!! frozen lakes and rivers.. endless trails!! lol i love winter riding..

anyways... dont know what you have done to your BUT... no lid with a k&n moose or uni filter, ( jet accordingly)

pipe if you dont have one now, or cheap.. go with a slip on silencer.. it will help.. short silencer will give you more top end power and long silencer will give you more low end power.

also cheap cheap.. if your runing a stock pipe yet, take your pipe off.... cut along the seam fromt the flange to the stinger, and removed the baffling, and screens in it that slow down the flow) and weld it back together.. i have pictures of the crap in a stock pipe if you care to see

gearing... med straights and tight turns prob stock 13/40 or can go 14 front for a little more top end...

ummm yup that about covers it lol I:I

Thanks guys.... The ONLY reason I was going to put it up this winter is because I want to start doing a few things to it such as those mentioned above. I also want to rebuild the motor if funds allow but the main thing is to modify it.

If time permits from my work schedule that is.

Thank you for your advice.

As for taking the lid off and jetting. I am mechaniclly inclined and worked as a turbine engine mechanic while in the Army but when it comes to carbs I'm not so slick. Is jetting the carb difficult? How expensive and what type of jets should I use? I have an FMF pipe and what appears to be a stock scilencer.

jetting is easy take the bowl off and you wil see the jet dead in the center......with an fmf pipe and lid off somewhere around a 270 main

Any ideas where to shop? I know there is a thread in here with a lot of online blaster stores. Is there any brand better than the next or any online shop less expensive than the next?

So something like this? All I need to do is replace the current one with the new one, pully the air box lid and toss in a K&N filter?

if ur gonna rebuild it and dont mind spending an extra 150 have ur cylinder ported...u will be amazed at the gains u can get...its like adding a stock bb kit.for a 1/4 of the price

Where would you get that done? I don't know of any place around here that could do that type of work. You think a motorcycle shop could do it?
