i was riding and it just locked up and wont kick. after i fix this pos im selling it and getting a honda 4 stroke dirtbike. i hate yamahaX( my 400ex has ended up towing 3 blown up blasters in the past few years, and its still running strong. so what am i looking for. do i just pull the top end off?

damn dude u have some bad luck or u cant tune a machine and im not saying that to be a dick, but most cases of seizure is improper tuning or wrong jetting...., but yea start by tearing off the top end and see what it looks like

it was jetted correctly i did a plug chop before i rode it i dont know wtf i have bad luck with 2 strokes. we were drag racing all day though.

maybe it was that honda oil?!? i thought you were talkin bout how great 2 strokes were like 2 days ago?? do you plan on selling it?

havent even been able to use the honda oil,and yes i liked 2 strokes a few days ago but we cant keep up with this thing.400ex you just gas and go.

nah about 30 hours.it had good compression like a month ago.
ehhh by 30 it could have been out of bore or the rings were on there way depending on maintenance and your brake in procedure. I would allways pull the top off by 25-35 hours on a 2stroke check the rings and bore, even if its fine its better to know before something bad happens..... I had to learn that the hard way.

especially if he said hes drag racing it........that kinda runnin puts abit more wear on things

yes i just let off the gas for a sec then hit it again in then herd a bang in then it locked up.
You NEVER want to cut the throttle like that on a 2storke, when you cut the gas you also cut the oil supply, now there will be some oil in the crankcase form low speed operation that will be there but that NOT enough...... You do not want it to run dry, which it can and will when you cut the throttle like that after a wot run.
