im having an issue with my 04 blaster. it runs great, but in 5th gear about 3/4 through the rpm band, and in 6th about 1/2 through the rpm range it quits pullin. is there a rev limiter on it? or could this be a jetting issue?

^^ yeah small jet seems likely... and it does have a sort of throttle limiter its called the TORS, throttle over ride system... there is a diy on how to remove it. easy and then you will know thats not the problem
stock carb, stock air box w/ uni filter, 260 main jet, fmf sst pipe and silencer, stock gearing, as for the engine, i was told a super stock piston but dont know for sure
yeah take the lid off and make sure to do a plug chop after to make sure you arent running to lean afterwards
yes the lid is still on it, i just got this thing about a month ago, so far a swingarm and carb rebuild is as far as ive got on it. is the 260 main jet close to were it needs to be for the lid not being on it? or do i need to go up in jetting?
that or 270 may be a little closer for that fmf pipe... i would try taking that lid off and see if that fixes it
Be prepared to go as high as a 290. Make sure you follow the intructions for a 03+ TORS removal.
ok, i took the lid off and tried to do a plug chop, it wouldnt pull past half throttle, just cut out and sputter. plug is dry and white. so it leaned out? its barely smokeing too.
