I may be stupid!

I recently had my whole engine rebuilt, and I did a complete tear down of the bike. As I went to assemble the throttle cable w/ the cap onto the carb I lost feeling in the throttle, until the very very end. Am I just not installing this correctly?

slide might be stuck.......

you know that the slide only goes in one way right? because the first time ive ever taken apart a carb i forced the slide in thinking it would go in either way and wen i played with the throttle it had no feeling like you said. it could be this or what blasterfreek said.

yeah, there is a slot that a little metal post slides into when you assemble the carb.
