Im a newbie is this the reason I cant contact people? I want to message someone regarding parts they have for sale, but it will not let me :-(

you'll be good to go tomorrow, look for the private message box at the top right of every page, or click anyones name and a dropbox will give you the option to PM them

thats to post in the marketplace or advertising sections, and a host of other options.
donating nets you no benefits except gold bars under your sig.
you can still contact someone for parts thru PM's,
then it is up to the seller to decide if he wants to deal with someone without the proper credentials
