Forgive me as I am two stroke dumb. How do I tell if the reeds or the cage is bad? My reeds seem to have a small gap when they sit down, do they need to be replaced? Will this cause a hanging rev or a sticking throttle?

I had a mildly built 250R but I only had to ride the snot out of that and change the plug twice a year.

Technically they should lay flat. Try turning them over. Don't over tighten the petal screws and use blue loctite. Not a big deal tho.

Hanging rev usually indicates a lean condition. A true sticking throttle could mean your cable needs lubed or replaced. They are different probs.

dude the search button is your friend but they wont "need" to be replaced but flip them then check for airleaks which could cause hanging revs and you may need a new throttle cable but lube it and list all your mods and aftermarket parts and your jetting
