Just want an opinion from the Blaster pro's on around how much power I should be making.
MX aggressive porting
KOR redesigned head
VF3 reeds
Pro design intake
PJ 34 mm carb
Plus 4 timing
CFM air box
F7 pipe
Toomey silencer

Stock bore stock stroke on pump gas? High 20's to low 30's with a nice smooth power curve should be a REALLY good runner. If everyone on here dyno'd their quads, I bet there are only a few putting down 35+ hp to the wheels. Crankshaft, maybe but not the wheels (where it matters).

Getting big peak HP numbers without sacrificing all bottom end is quite difficult to do out of ~200cc's. Unless you're talking big bore kit and stroker crank (each with their own advantages and disadvantages) big hp numbers are tough.

Thanks for that input. Where do you think I will be with the plus 3 crank ? Thats not bad considering that the Blaster is much lighter then most other quads.

You hit the NIAL ON THE HEAD with that one.... 17hp blaster's are lathargic. 40hp blasters are death traps! It's the weight that really makes that the case.

The +3 crank doesn't add a whole lot of power, it really frees up some torque (for a smoother power delivery, not necessarily high reak hp) which, at certain RPM's (above 5,252) will result in more horsepower but you also have to remember, +3mm in stroke is only about 1/8"..... not a whole heck of a lot!
