How Did You Get Your Blaster?

I got mine from a buddy for 300. It was a 250 swap bike that was rigged. I tore it apart and started rebuilding it. I currently have trx 250r rear shock, yfz450 front shocks, banshee axle and hubs, strokedtater +5 swinger, and warrior front hydros. Soon to come civic +3+1 a Arms, awk rear hydros. The motor is getting the head reworked
for higher compression, ported and polished cylinder, lightened flywheel, piston boost port mod, and a 1.5 mm overbore with a weisco forges
piston.

How i got my blaster..... well i had a freind for about 4 years. and His dad bought the blaster for like 300 dollers cause the guy thought he blew it. all it was was rings or something. well i helped them take the motor apart and sand and paint every thing... lets just say one long day. 2 days after that it was up and running. well 2 years passed and i got close to there family and his dad wanted to sell it cause no one ever rode it. and the dont like 2 strokes. so his dad said 500 bucks and it yours. well i paid about 300 and he let me take it to my grandpas to ride and change the gasket on the clutch side and chang oil. well got that done was out rideing with my uncle aunt and my ex gf. and i wasent going hard and it blew... do to bad crank seals. well now in the middle of a full rebuild. almost done with that and since it blew up his dad lowerd it to 400 bucks and well i worked on his sled and have almost paid it all off. my mom is paying for the rebuild to my uncle who is building it. and that is how i got my blaster.

i had bought a 1999 honda 300ex with a 2001 motor doe 200 dollars not running, i bought tons of stuff trying to figure it out and never got it running... i was still looking at stuff to buy for it when a guy was riding by and stopped on a 2002 all stock blaster with no brakes and bald balloon tires. he offered to trade me even and i took him up on it. i only had about 100-150 in the 300ex so i basically got a 2002 blaster for 450 dollars. first i put on new brakes all around then bought a set of aluminum rims with the shredder tires on them i have now. after tons of work you can see how my blaster currently sits in my sig. i probably should mention the guy i traded tried pulling the 300ex to get it started and after about 15 mins of pulling it dropped a valve and destroyed it all in the same day haha... afterwards he poured gas all over it and set fire to it, funniest thing i've ever seen.

i am 4500 into my blaster and still not satisfied. it still has tons of problems (no brakes AGAIN except for very weak back mechanical brakes that need adjusting every ride, no chain rollers so chain rubs frame, swingarm shock mount on my +4 was drilled too big so i welded some washers to it (washers not a perfect fit but pretty damn close and i don't trust my welding skills so i'm considering a new +4 swinger), could use back tires, front spindles drilled out to a tight but not perfect fit, can't decide between 14/41 gearing or 13/41, and it doesn't have as much power as i want it to i want it to pick up the front wheels easier it gets up and gets gone quick and good but just doesn't have the same feel as before extending). as for stuff i want i would like it to have awk rear brakes, front brake lines for my banshee hydros, new tires, some port work, some spindles that are a perfect tight fit, different headlight (no more walmart lights after my experiences with them and i don't love the look of the stock light).

Well, after my buddy got an '02 660 for $900 w/ some $$$$ in mods (retired flat-track race bike, now a woods bike) (Lucky bastard) He brought his 1995 Blaster to my house so I could sell it to my neighbor. After a month or so of sitting I finally got to my neighbor, he test drove it, and the 0 brakes about killed him even though I told him not to go up our big ass street (its an incredibly steep hill). So anyway long story short he didn't buy it, so it sat at my house for 3-4 months and after weeks of bitching my 'friend' out about taking it back to his house, he rode to my house on his 660 one day (Us Bama Folks can do that lol)..and I bought it for $300, and started ordering brake parts 5 min later lol. It blew up 2-3 weeks later and is now a rolling chassis under my back porch. When my co-worker gets finished rebuilding the bottom end for me it'll be back up and running within a 2 months I:I (maybe lol)

It was some time around Sept 1993 and my dad brought it home on a friday, and i was very happy that it was the NEW 1994 Olive Green Blaster and not the purple one...lol... That friday night we went up to my camp in Brookville PA, and i BEAT the hell out of it all weekend long...lol... It was so much more fun to ride then the old azz Honda ATC 200s i had...

Got my '03 on CL for $600 not running, all stock. Simple carb cleaning and she ran. Now im into my rebuild, before picture:

i got my 2000 a while ago with no brakes lol

fixed that, rode it all summer, killed it in the fall. tore it apart for several different projects, and it is actually back on top of the priorities list to be ready by summer 2012

I'll join!
1989 BLASTER was rescued from bro-in-law, who ran the piss out of it for 6 years, Then when nothing, i mean nothing worked he gave it to my son. Little did i know how bad the mod bug was going to bite (and is still hurting)!
So this is how it was then-

Got two 2000 blasters from my brothers best friend who hadn't ridden them for 3-4 years or so. Cleaned them up and did some brake work, bearings, tires, etc....one got stolen but I paid for both in beer - the real US currency!!

So u never did recover that huh?

found mine on craigslist for 500 bucks with no pics and non-running. it was only 45 mins away so i took a chance and went to look at it in the poring rain. the guy told me over the phone it was 98 or 99 model, but when i got there to my delight it was the 03. offered him 400 bucks and drove home with it.

my blaster wouldn't be anywhere near what it is without mmajay or sicivicdude. jay hooked me up on most of the parts and civicdude went out of his way to get me a good bottom end after my 1st rebuild went to poop over a cracked case that i thought i could squeeze by with. props to those 2 guys and the rest of the forum for giving me motivation.

now i need to build another project that i have been putting off...muhahaha...

NOT! LOL

here's mine on both the 02 black and yellow and the 04 special.
I got by tradeing this kid my beat up but super clean 2000 warrior that was piped and had a uni cam and all kinds of stuff from my buddy who rode the sh*t outta it after months of begging to buy it from him. He wrecked it and bent something like 4 days before I was gonna buy it so he droped the price from $1100 to like $750. I kept it for 6 months put 50 bucks into it to get it how I wanted it....... It was pretty decent but pulled to the right from the wreck so you would have to muscle it while rideing it, but I tradded that for it. All I had to do was clean out the carb polish the pipe up trim the front plastics a tad to make it look right, paint them sectionally black and yellow to match the frame bought an 06 SE shark nose for it. Buy 03-06 spindles I'm saving up for and put on fresh ITP badlands on back and DWT blackout rims up front courtesy of the dude who traded me the 04 SE blaster.
I got my 04 Blaster by tradeing my 2000 KX125 that needed it's clutch plates swaped out that was all decked out. I got an extra set or stock rims and stuff. I put on Chrome DWT blue label with 22 inch sport bandits that I had from the warrior on along with ITP alu. rims. Along with brand new turftamers from the shee I already had with the red front shee shocks. I'm makeing my own bushings for the 450R shock. It already had a +4 swinger w/ black night paint while I had all My dad's banshee stuff out and cleaned We went to davespowersports in Sandusky ohio and picked up a new set of VF3's with the shock which was free and dident cost me anything except gas and the day off. and I'm just finishing that and Hopefuly I'll be able to ride it next week
Thats my story
