How about a thread response area

Would anyone else appreciate a spot on or above the toolbar that notifies that a thread you are involved in has been updated?

there's a live stream next to the chatbox at the bottom of the page

otherwise you can always subscribe to the threads so you get an email notification when there's a reply

i know, i get the emails, just thought it might be easier, but yeah i see the complications in that, just throwin it out
