ok so as some of you know i took my blaster to a buddy's and let him have it to look over and tune up for a couple days. when i rode it the other day while visiting it seemed to have twice the balls. yesterday i asked him what all he did to make it run better and he said he put a "hotter" plug in. says a buddy had him run a chainsaw plug in his yz250 and it made a huge difference so he tried it in mine and said that was most of the reason it was so much faster.

now the question

is this bad? will it damage anything?

It could.Take it out and look at it.If it is white then it is running to hot and is going to hurt something. If it is brown then you are good to go keep running it.If it is black then you are good to.

Just curious what plug is it?
It could cause pre-ignition or actually melt and put metal into your cylinder.

not sure ill have to check when i go up. blaster is still at his house waiting to have all the new parts bolted to it.

all he told me about it was that it was a chainsaw spark plug and said it was "hotter"

if he calls tonight ill see if he remembers the exact name off the top of his head

The next hotter plug for a Blaster is the NGK B(R)7ES, and as stated it can cause detonation and it could destroy your engine!!!!
For a stocker Blaster you should run a B(R)8ES and for a HOT! Blaster a B(R)9ES may be required.
A plug that's not fouled will make a HELL of a difference!

i honstly have no idea how to tell. what should i be looking for or noticing? all i do is ride my blaster hard so it would make sence right lol? what would happen if i use the br9es when im not riding it hard?

wait is the br8es hotter than the br9es? this isnt stickin in my head. its making me think the hotter the plug, the less chance of fouling out. right now my plug is being gay. it runs and sh*t but then after awhile i go to check it and its wet and dark. its a br8es and this is without the new carb and 240 kit. should have that sh*t installed saterday, done boring friday.

so that confuses me more. why would you run a less hot plug with a bigger cylinder volume? is it easier to ignite?

enough trying to explain to my dumb ass lol, just what plug should i use? i guess if vitos recomends the br9es then i should use it right? any other arguments against using it?

I used to run a 9 in my stock blaster. thats what the yammy dealer told me to do, and in my 85 we run a br10es
