home made skid plate

as thick as the rocks you plan to hit.:) i wouldnt go less than 3mm aluminium personally. but if you use stainless steel it could be thinner i guess

I just made a skid plate for mine and used s.s. and it is not that thick. but I hit it with a framing hammer and it just made a mark on it. if I hit a really big sharp rock at WOT then that may be a diffrent story but it may keep it from smacking my motor.
And the nice thing is it was free.

i plan to make mine out of ss diamond plate All im going to do is have it cute to the shape i want it, drill holes and use U bolts to bolte it to the frame. I want the rubber im goign to run door seal strips down the aread that touches the frame to keep it from scraching.

for my a arms its a different story, thow need to have a front and bottom because fiels of weeds like to rub the paint off those lower a arms. Not sure what i'll do about those becuase i feel like welding it will cause the weld to rust.

then fro the swingarm skid plate IDK what im goign to do. I dont know if i really think it needs anything other than the stock one.
