high RPM

hi today i was riding and i have a few questions
1. whay wont my quad idle
2. since it wont idle i was comming around a turn and i have my cluch in and i was giving it gas so it wouldent stall out then......it got to very high RPMs and scared the sh*t out of me. so i shut it off and check to see if i have gass.......NO!!! will she still run?

I don't you will have done any damage by running it out of fuel, unless it revved for a long time.

There would have been enough residual oil in the crankcase to keep everything lubricated.

You want to first check that your carb slide is working smoothly. If that checks out good, time to do a leak down test. You can also check to make sure your carb and boot is good. Check the TORS on top of the carb to make sure it's tight and not stripped. Check your carb to Rees boot to make sure the clamp is tight and you have no rips or holes in the boot.

clean the carb, put in some fresh fuel, and give it another try

Might as well clean the petcock and tank if you find any junk in/on petcock screen, clean carb.

Give the carb an extra good clean, you have prolly imported a stack of crap from a nigh empty tank.

Is the TORS still connected?

Have you done a leak down test?

Who did the final assembly?

Has it been checked for leaks?

How was it broken in?

Have you done a leak down test?
