high heat paint??

so i got a dmc pipe and silencer today. its a mix of different dark colors. so i want to paint it. should i get high heat black paint or silver?

You want to use automotive header paint . Good up to 1500 degree.

The DMC is a chrome plated exhaust. DO not use a ceramic high temp it will not stick to the chrome surface without first blasting it. Make sure you use a high temp primer with proper paint and proper prep.

well i dont want to blaste it i think i will just use some of my rubbing polish

I've done it many times before with no problems. You just have to prep it correctly. You have to clean all the rust off. Scuff it real good so there's no shinny spots, clean it real good with a pre paint cleaner. Do multiple lite coats with about 15 minutes between coats. About 3-4 coats work good.
