I am having a little throttle hesitation on initial take of, the bike bogs down a little bit in 1st just starting out the hesitates for about 15-20 seconds then takes off and doesnt do it again, until i come to a stop and take off from a stop. I adjusted the throttle to take all the play out of it, i cleaned the filter and oiled it, just put new oil in the crank/tranny. I cant think of what could be causing it, bc once it gets going its fine. The bike idles fine and doesnt do it when i twist the throttle on a stop just when I take off. If you can please help me diag this issue I would appreciate it. Thank you! =)

I dont know, Honestly I havent pulled the carb yet. I havent messed with the screw at all, it seems to idle fine do you think i need to turn it out or turn it in? also I have noticed that the quad leaks fuel if its not set to off on the tank.

So u think just a good cleaning is in order? anything in particular I should look for? and the fuel leaking issue?

Yeah a good through cleaning is in order. Leaking sounds like float sticking. Where is it leaking from can you tell? Either way you need a good cleaning and maybe new bowl gasket.

the leak is coming from the drain hose on the bottom of the carb, also is the pilot air screw and the throttle screw the same? SO after I clean it i can get it tuned just right, i know the manual has a certain range but I dont have a Tach, do you just listen by ear? and if so what should sound right? or what am i looking for to be a good idle or mix?

the idle should be slightly on the fast side. and sounds like the o-ring in the carb is worn/comprimised my friend but do a good thouro cleaning with carb cleaner and a throwaway tooth brush also be shure to write down the number markings stamped into the jets for future reference should you wanna change anything about the bike ok :)

Cool, I was hoping that it would just past like maybe it's been sitting a while. I also bought a new UNI filter to replace the stock one bc the hesitation was really bad with the old filter and would stall some times on idle until I cleaned it since I cleaned it its great, but still had a lil hesitation. Also I wanted to mention its missing 1 vent hose, I have it on order, but would that cause any of these symptoms?

Clock wise richens up the idle mix, only the beginning of the needle will notice.

Adjusting the air is no substitute for looking to see what jets are in the carby.

You really should do a leak test.

If you are intent on fiddling with the air screw you should read and follow the following.

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor to responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .
