Hesitation on initial take off

I don't think it is leaking air, the air box is tight and all the hoses look good, how can I track down a air leak just in case?

get at least a 270/290 main jet in that before you fry it !!!!
plug chop, plug chop, plug chop !!!!!
or i'll be suggesting a builder and best piston.
did you read any of the links i posted above ?

tighten the carb cap firmly with channel locks, do not over tighten it, they strip easily.
no loc-tite

Yes I have been checking out all the links that have been posted, very helpful. I dont have the tools to preform a leak test @ this time, but will do it soon. I will order a bigger jet I'm thinking a 290. I didn't quite understand the plug chop concepts tho. Is it just a way to measure the rich/lean-ness on the quad?

will all my mods, and I also live in NM 5000 ft elevation what size main and pilot combo should I use. I found a CL mechanic that said he could do the leak test for me, so I will have those results here soon. I was thinking a 290-300/ 40 combo? If i can get some input on this to get these jets ordered ASAP AWK08 got me a little worried about possibly frying the bike.

You got that right, and leave the pilot stock 32.5.

If Awk has you worried about jetting, he has done a good job!
