ok i am almost done putting my blasty back together, and i just went to start it and after 2 kicks it almost turned over, but didnt, then when i gave it some gas i realized the throttle only felt normal at the very last 1 or so (when pushing it to full throttle.

i checked the small rod were the throtte goes into the carb, and it is in that hole in the middle, but still no go...i did notice that it doesnt have a sharp tip on it, and i could have sworn it used to...could that have broken off?

Please help!

EDIT: i just took the whole carb off and tried the throttle and it works perfectly, im gonna try to put it back on now

Do you have the slide in correctly? If its turned 180* it won't go down all the way and you'll notice it in the throttle when you push on it. When you push the throttle to wide open and then slide your thumb off of it, you should hear the slide slam shut, if not you may have it in the wrong way

you mean the needle?? That is supposed to be tapered and sit down in the main jet. Hopefully the tip didnt' break off....

But I would get the thing running first before worrying about the throttle. 2 kicks isn't trying!! When the float bowl is empty, it will take more than 2 kicks to draw fuel into the cylinder!

If it starts but doesn't run right, then think about the throttle!! Make sure the cable isn't twisted or anything, and make sure the slide is nice and clean, and so is the inside of the carb (which goes without saying, of course) but especially where the slide touches the sides of the carb.
