Hey...we're here to help. The exhaust system has two parts: (1) a head pipe that's installed to the engine head and a (2) silencer that connects to the head pipe and allows the exhaust & smoke to exit the engine. The pipe side of the carb is the side opposite from the choke side.
Thanks, I might be stupid, but there is no silencer on this machine, the pipes definitely are not stock...FMF I think, the details parts aren't that important to me right now. I now know what you're talking about, at least what side of the carb to look at. Funny thing is, I was out wrenching on t a bit tonight, but I completely forgot to look for the nipple. I do remember seeing a threaded hole that I thought was curious. Maybe I will take a peek tomorrow, snap a picture and post it and see if that is what you are talking about.
Anyhow, clutch springs torqued down, covers back on, 32:1 premix in the tank, slight adjustment on the kick, put it in neutral and gave her a kick and she fired right up. Pulled the clutch in and put it in gear, slowly let the clutch out and we were moving forward under power....WOO HOO. I think the clutch springs need to be replaced though, should the screws bottom out?
I didn't take it for a spin though, I remembered the one rear tire (right side sitting on it) had a bit of a wobble. Seems to me either the hub or the end of the axle is stripped out. The other hub (left side), after closer inspection, was tack welded into place. :-/ I might be able to grind off the welds, if that creates an unbalanced issue, will that be a major issue? Also, this might be nothing, with the rear up on a block, not hitting the sprocket or chain (which is still on both gears), and the machine in neutral, when I try to spin the axle by hand, there is a binding spot. I marked the sprocket and it is about in the same spot each time, maybe plus or minus a couple teeth. Should that be happening? Common sense tells me, maybe a little, but maybe not this much. It gets really hard to spin by hand, but once it kinda "snaps" thru the spot, then it rolls freely again.
I'm just looking for quick advice, busy week of work and training...ugh. Thanks for any input. BTW, should I start posting this stuff in other categories here at blasterforum?
