Ok, well I gave up on my old one wires were missing, grounds were not connected to anything.
So today the harness I ordered of ebay got here, shipping was pretty good shipped from Lansing Michigain on monday by usps so pretty fast for them.
Anyways I am gonna be hooking it up after school.
I want to know exactly what wires I can remove from the harness and exactly how to do them. I will not be running a key start, I do not have TORS because I have a 34mm keihin now.
Also I ordered a new ignition coil off of ebay, it's different than the one that was on it. The one on it is a big ball of white plastic with the wire inside of it, the one I got off ebay is black and has a piece of metal sticking out where I guess you attach the wire from the harness?
Thanks for the help, I'll be on tomorrow to check this out then I'll go ahead and attempt to put it on, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

To get rid of the wires you don't need the bst way is to unwrap the harness and completely remove them by tracing. The tors is pretty easy, key should be also, just watch as all the grounds merge at a point and u gotta be careful pulling it apart there. If ur oil pump is blocked off get rid of those wires too. Once everything is removed that u don't want just wrap it up good with electrical tape again.

why not just put it on as is to make sure everything works before hacking this harness up? then if it works start stripping it out..

Well I wasn't planning on removing anything until I can see a good spark, just want to get the basic info on what I can do and how to do it. Awk I'll be sure to let you know if I need any help, hopefully I won't. If I can figure out the difference in the ignition coils I should be good to go.

pics of the 2 coils would help

The wiring harness you got on ebay is for a 03 or later, they use a spay connector on the coil, no big deal if you have the whole harness. Hopefully you got the cdi box because the plugs are different on the 03 and later, actually the whole cdi is different but still works with any motor. you will have an extra green wire at the motor, don't worry about it, they improved the lighting system on the 03+, and the green wire has something to do with that. Good luck

well the ebay add said it was a harness off of a 2001 blaster, I didn't see any extra green wires on it.
The ignition coil was a seperate buy off anohter seller, i'll get some pics of them next to each other in a minute then ill post them

Only difference in the coils is one has the wire already connected inside and has just the ring connector ready to install under the bolt (ground). The other style coil has a male disconnect post, you just need to take a insulated female disconnect connector and a pice of wire and make a connection with a insulated ring connector at the other end to use to mount under the coil bolt for ground.

You lost me when you said male disconnect post, can you simplify that for an idiot lol I:I
