So just like it says I finally got my 03 blaster running after carb problems. now i think there is a TORS problem. when its pluged in it revs to the moon and will not idle right and when i unplug it it will run right but wont idle... any ideas would help i am lost

I don't see how the TORS could cause it to rev up, did you try turning the idle screw when the TORS was unplugged to see if it will idle? If not, try that first, from there i would say check your jetting, it could just need moved to a richer notch on the needle clip position.

i have tried that but when its pluged in i turn it down and it does nothing and then it will just die. when its unpluged i thought the idle screw did not work because of the censor on there was no longer pluged in

try adjusting the idle using the throttle cable... adjust it at the thumb throttle...

my 01 had the tors on BUT the wires to the thumb were cut and the ones to the tors box on the carb were cut.. idles just fine and the screw still adjusted it

Try this: Go to your carb and screw the cap on tight, also make sure that you have all your clamps on. Mine revved high and it was the cap and clamp problem. and if you have the oil injection block off, make sure where the line who hooked up to the carb is capped off!

On mine I have eliminated all the TORS wiring and the stock idle screw still works fine. Try Adjusting the idle with the TORS unplugged, if that doesn't work then give the carb a good cleaning. If none of that works then you might want to adjust your jetting to be richer at idle.

the tors are a throttle over ride system. it supposed to cut the engine if the throttle gets stuck.

It is garabage the hole system. The system differs depending on the year.

on my 89 it is a big ass unit connected to the top of the carb cab and there is a electric unit under the hood and a part in the thumb throttle housing. There is a thread on here that tells you how to remove it. But I took my hole system out wires and all.
Thjay sell a tors removeal kit. that come with a new throttle cable new carb cap with adjustable cable stop and you have to drill and tap the carb for a new idle adjustment screw.

Hope this helped you out.

i just rebiult the carb to get it running and i put it back to factory because it is all stock i took note of the air screw location and put everything back exactly how it was. i have tried the screw on the trottle and that did not do anything so i will just try to adjust it with the TORS unplugged and hope for the best..... thanks for the input

okay well adjusting the idle did not work. it either revs up or when i turn the idle down it will die there is no happy medium and i am lost... any other ideas would help
