got a 2001 yz 250 for my blaster

my update is waiting on the radiator im hoping it comes in today or tomorrow i ordered it over a week ago and still waiting soon as i get it ill post up some pics

well got any other pics for us?

naaa i havent done anything else to it but look at it until i get the radiator im at a stand still. i ordered the radiator on may 29th the guy took 5 days to put it in the mail and i still havent gotten it. i asked for a tracking number yesterday and he responded to me with a full refund and said i should have done gotten it but im thinking he hasnt sent it at all so im prolly gonna have to buy another one boooo

well i was getting rid of all my blaster stuff but ive decided im gonna keep all the aftermarket parts and finish this build. it still gonna be a long project because im building the yfz too unless i win the lotto lol. anyway i got to messing with it again and all the mounts i have made so far im just gonna scrap em. i ended up cutting the frame rails out and i am gonna make some changes so i can fit my pipe in without modifying it, i dont want to change any characteristics of the head pipe although i will have to make some changes to accomodate the silencer but no biggie. as far as the motor mounts i think im gonna try and make some that have a little rubber in them to try and help out the vibration and gonna see if i can get anyone around here to machine my case and make me a rear motor/swingarm mount out of rubber like yz otis's motor, gonna have alot of time to do it so i might as well do it right the first time. i also took the radiator off the yfz and im gonna make some mounts for it. i think its a little bigger than the other radiators being used so it might help with cooling a little better. im also gonna be building a extended roundhouse swinger kinda like the one callmej built and a long travel rear end with a little help from the godfather lol. its kinda went from just a motor swap to a full rebuild. anyways here is some pics of what i been tinkering with this weekend. hopefully next weekend ill get to get some rails cut, fitted and welded in.

I would recommend that you don't machine the case. You don't need that much rubber, if any.. All the people in the know say the best way is rigid, metal to metal. I have my own opinion on that but there is no gain by machining the case. You might get the space for a thin bit of rubber by removing the inserts. Don't ruin the cases!
IMHO

alright otis ill take your word on that and just roll the way it is on the rear what do u think about the front no rubber as well just go regular mounts?

I'd say solid mounts all around. You'll spend more time riding than experimenting.

solid mounts it is! the way i cut the frame i dont have to modify the head pipe at all just the silencer end and the head pipe comes outta the frame with ease just gotta weld up some new braces and ill be set with the motor not to sure how im gonna make the mount for the head cuz it is gonna be really close to the tank. the lower radiator hose might be a problem, it looks like im gonna have to make some sharp bends to get it around the head pipe

made a little more progress today, i got the front rails cut and shaped to be welded in just gotta make it over to dads and use his welder. i have to invest in some tools its hells making mounts with a hacksaw and a grinder lol anyway here is a pic of the front rails they are just laying up there and fit a little better than they look
