ive seen this advertised certain places and i was wandering how large you can get a stock carb bored out to. and if its even worth it :-/

yeah, carb boring, and from the one i saw once, they only bore like 1-2 mm bigger on the filter side of it, not the actual barrel where the slide goes, so that area stays the same size, so how can it flow anymore ?????

I bore them but different than what Awk saw. .050" is max (1.25mm) and I bore them all the way from the filter side to the intake. If you go too large, air will go past the slide. Seems like it gives better throttle responce. 98blaster+4 has one and a local girl run them.
Carb mods like that are respectable performance mods but for the same price (or less) you could buy a Keihin PWK28 and have a much better carb design from the get-go.
well im gonna need alot more than that with the mods i have planned. so im just gonna get an aftermarket. thanks guys
your best bet is since brandon is building your engine, have him tell you what carb to run. he will know which runs best with his porting styles. ken did my head redesign and rebuilt my entire engine from the bottom up. he personally installed it on my bike so that what im using for now. and without any air leaks im running a 400 main jet. so i guess im flowing soome serious air!

my pj34mm is bored and polished. the inside looks purdy, but it was like that when i got it from my engine builder, so i couldnt tell you what the difference felt like from non bored, to bored. lol
