so I have searched the forum looking for instructions on how to drill out the stock fuel valve for more fuel flow and have come up with no results. if somebody knows how to do this some help would be much appreciated and pictures would be even better thanks

just buy a banshee one, it goes right into place, otherwise i know there's a write up on here on how to do it

i have seen the mod on here, i think pualieb or phragle posted it, i personally went for the banshee one from ebay, $20, uses 5/16 line just like my 34 pj inlet, just for the added piece of mind, it's of one piece and and wont leak, the added nipple in the modded one looks like a good place to leak ????

the one linked above talks about modding just the handle, the one on here involved dremeling out the divider inside and also adding a bigger outlet, but it wont flow anymore than the inlet of the carb or outlet of the valve

imo, spend the $20 and get a banshee one

PAULIEB has a write up of the one he did and it is far cheaper than $20. I have no problems with lines fittting from stock petcock to 34-35 mm carbs.IMO a banshee petcock is a waste of money. To each his own.

i have a banshee petcock you can buy. say $10 shipped?

i will take pictures of the gas tank someone modded for a drag banshee. it has dual petcocks. one is a stock banshee one, the other is just line and an on/off petcock. they each feed one of the carbs. it worked good.

i drilled out mine and then got thinking i have never had an issue with my carb running outta gas and i really dont think that anyone else has either, so what is really the point of trying to get more fuel to the carb if the carb can only use up a certain amount to begin with

exactly bro. There is no point for one on a blaster other than matching up the ecxact size of the inlet of the carb to the petcock. If you use decent fuel line than it is not an issue.Mythbusters rules it a myth!!!lol

it is a myth, but while cleaning my stock "weiner", i tore one of the screens, and for same price, and ease of matching up fuel line size, i went banshee

Look at the size of the hole in yur float valve. Even if you run alcohol with a pump it has to go through your float valve.... Not a very big hole is it....LOL,,,,but there are always exceptions to the rule...:)

When does this mod become necessary?I've never checked it riding since I can see through the see through fuel filter but I don't think I've ever starved for gas.except when I'm not going to ride for a few weeks and I shut off the fuel and run it until it dies.

I wouldn't call it ever a necessity. I just put a banshee petcock on because of the outlet issue, it's nice to match up to the carb. BUT, I also noticed the fuel pickup tubes that go in the tank are exactly the same diameter as the blaster ones. It was a bit shorter, meaning you could ride a bit longer before running out of fuel, but that just means the reserve is smaller.

YZ Otis is right. It is the float valve that ultimately controls how much fuel gets into the carb and that opening is what, 1-2mm?

I also have a banshee "weiner". as you needed a pair of pliers to turn my stocker and after I removed it from the tank the screen popped off and wouldn't stay on. Now i can say i have a huge banshee weiner!
