I could use some help on the right combo to convert to hydro brakes up front. First I'm working with a really beat up blaster so I'm starting with junk! The a arm bushings are shot but the ball joints are good. I am not sure if I want to get new arms or use the stockers? Either way I want the hydro brakes and a good combo,no crappy mix and match that will give me trouble. So if someone could list the best parts combo that would be great! I've been searching but there seem to be lots of combos. Thanks

the 03-06 blaster hydros are always a good set up. that's what's on mine and it is way way way way better than the old style drums. my buddy has a 95 and that thing is all over the place when you brake hard mine stays straight every time.

you can find em on ebay pretty regular. there was a set in the forsale section not long ago. you need to be a supporting member though. i think they were goin for 100 bucks if they haven't sold yet

Ok, so from what I've found I can get the Norman 420 spindles, shee hubs calibers and rims or aftermarket blaster a-arms, shee ball joints, hubs, calibers, and rims. Is this right??? Thanks

The norman spindles allow you to run the factory suspension and wheels. You need the hub off of a '90 or newer warrior or any year banshee. Pretty much any yamaha sport quad hub and rotor except for raptor 660.

The master cylinder and brake lines off of practically any sport quad, utility quad, sport bike, or hell maybe even a few lawnmowers will work. As long as it uses a banjo bolt on the output of the master cylinder and has a suitably long handle and clamps to a 1" bar. The lines can also be pretty much any set as long as they're off some sort of a sport quad with banjo bolts on each end. Calipers can be off of any late model yamaha sport quad (warrior, banshee, raptor, yfz). They all use the same bolt pattern for the mounting plate but the YFZ calipers are dual piston but their price is reflective of the increased stopping power.

;-) My set of norman spindles went on two weeks ago... that's how I know.

Oh, and the lawnmower bit was a joke, the rest of it was serious. The best bet is to buy a whole brake setup from a banshee or warrior MC, lines, calipers, and hubs all together and then get the norman spindles. Ebay is your friend, I got banshee hubs and calipers for $35 shipped to my house and a MC and lines for $24 shipped to the house. The only thing I needed was one banjo bolt one line was missing but luckily I've worked on a few wheeler brakes before and had an extra. If you don't have any extras laying around you have two choices. The bolts are 10mm x 1.0 banjo's that either fit some automotive brake systems OR oil line systems specifically factory turbocharger oil feed lines. Subaru's and volvo's use banjo bolts for the oil lines so a junkyard is an option. ;-) happy hunting!

Cool, I have the old banjo bolts and lines from my ltz when I switched to braided duel lines. They should work with a z ms. I also have a small shop near me that has alot of blaster and warrior parts so I'll see what they have laying around.
