found that a reed was missing out of the cage so replaced with boysen and had to swap carbs for one that didnt leak along with putting the kickstart spring back in. But she runs pretty good!!
the guy i sold this bike to let his buddy ride it and blew it up! piston skirt blew and went thorugh the cases..it was the original piston and bore too. now i am rebuilding it for him and he is redoin the whole bike!! i tried to get him to sighn up here but i dunno... we are doin a +3 stroker with the stock jug. i did some porting to it...
so u got this bike for $150, fixed it up, sold it within a few months, then within that same few months the dude blew it sending the bottom end to hell and now you're doing a full rebuild on it?
nice! any one of many parts you will need with cost much more than the original price tag on the entire bike LOL I estimate without of ever checking prices, if you're going to source everything 3-400+ on just the motor lol. I'd look for a cheap running motor to start on. if you plan on doing a full rebuild there could be some expensive parts you could reuse
The guy called me and said it was smoking really bad and after I inspected the plug I found it was black and had a peice of metal wedged in it. I replaced it and it fired right up but withing 30 seconds smoke was pouring out of it. I suspected an oil seal but when I took the clutchcover off and removed a few parts I noticed the balance shaft wouldn't go all the way around without dragging. That's when I knew there was a proble. he is doin most all the rebuilding, I'm just helping with the motor because he doesn't have the tools to work on it. He wants a larger carb 30mm oko probobly and has had it bored already. Found a set of cases on ebay for 150 as well. As soon as I get home in 2 weeks he will be done with the frame and I can start putting the motor together for him. I'm excited to see this bike running again. I have sent a head to ken for the mod I'm trying to talk him into using it but as with most builds he is on a budget..
got it all together and running today. used a 30mm oko carb and seems to run really good. just got a couple heat cycles in it. starts right up and sounds great!!
