Hey guys, i was richening up (is that a word?) my pilot air screw this morning and during the process, i noticed after one particular kick, the kick starter didnt return up from the footpeg and needed to be manually returned, i figured that fat thick return spring inside the clutch cover popped out of its locator hole and did think it should be a problem. later, i went for a 15km ride out at a track nearby, i did one loop and had a chill out session. I had just started the second loop and slowed down to let my buddy catch up and i noticed a strange knocking sound, a deep, random sound not really consistant or rhythmic. sounded like its coming from the back of the engine but not too sure. it cant be detonation at idle surely? So i putted back to pits and thats that. now, could it be that that return spring is getting in the way of the clutch basket and causing the knock? i plan on checking it out tonight but just looking for some input before i get started...
Many thanks..;)

okkkkk ive found that the spring broke, got a piece of it that came out when i opened up but am concerned there may be another piece that could have gone throught to the transmission...what are the chances? the piece ive got didnt get munched between any cogs so thats ok. just going to try inspect for any other bits...

you have a parts cleaner? or anything like that? you could just fill the case with oil, shake it aorund to loosen up any debris, then drain the oil.

ok not to worry, i inspected the piece i found and you can see the machined egde which is a bit stained from oil and the other end matched the spring where it broke so no pieces are missing! :) il order one tomorrow and should be rolling again by thursday!
