Im sitting with a mild predicament. I would like to keep my blaster to my place (currently with my folks) but to do so would mean squeezing it through a garden pedestrian gate which links the house to a garden partition precast wall, which is way to narrow. My bike is about 1.5m wide (will check!) and the gateway is about 1m. Any ideas on how to get the bike through short of dismantling the wall?

I was thinking some kind of timber ramp to put one side on to put the bike at an angle. A fork lift would be ideal and simply lift it over the garden wall. but that's totally not practical!

anyone else ever had this situation? Ive had it before but always had an alternative option....

I had the same problem. Our solution was to build a second gate next to the first one so I could open both gates and ride the blaster through. I dont know if you have enough room for that or the motivation to do it right with posts and cement and all that jazz.

Stand it up vertical and then slide it through the gates sideways

That's a real good idea. Make a small wood cart with locking swivel wheels . The locking wheels will help hold the cart in place when loading the rear wheels and lifting it vertical. Use some kind of latch or strap to lock down the grab bar to the cart to help keep the Blaster vertical when rolling.

I built my blaster in my apartment. To get it out, I took the front wheels off, pulled it threw the door, put the front wheels back on. Than did the same for the rear. Kinda a pain in the rear, but I got it out...lol

The stock height of the Blaster is 1040mm, 40.9ins.

I guess that you are not running the balloon tyres, so standing it on end on a trolley, it may just fit through the gate!

I was thinking about standing it on end and sliding it through but that would be near impossible on my own as its a slight uphill and the surface is not smooth. The thought of a wooden cart/trolley also crossed my mind and I think Il have to go that way.

Im not going to take of wheels everytime I want to test drive my bike though, thats like changing your jocks everytime you fart.

Ramping ti is an option, but il probably hang myself in the washing line over the wall!!! Nice to see familiar faces around here still!

Swaer! Ek het vir jou lang tyd gemis! Hou gaan dit!!?? I have been busy! Its been 2 years since I paid much attention to the forum, I have been riding in between but nothing serious, life has been hectic, I got married (Oct 2014) , my brother (riding partner) has had a baby and time to work on bikes has been thin, thankfully with all things settling down again, I can get stuck in!

We planning a nice big 2 day ride at the end of march through the Transkei region of south africa again, going to be epic, but first some serious Blaster TLC is required!!!

I mentioned taking the wheels off only because you said it needed to go threw the opening. You forgot to mention it had to go in and out multiple times. So thank you for the sarcasm. Good luck with whatever solution you decide to go with.

Wow Blaaster, really zooming in there! BEST- Nice to see you man! been too long! are you stillklapping it with the KTM 250?? (It was you wasnt it?) Bansheedave, apologies, forgot to mention it would have to be a regular thing.

Here's looking forward to seeing a pic of the narrow gate solution (now if it were a pile of rocks, you would know immediately). :D
