I have also been think about trying to hook up a temp sensor in the oil drain plug. What idk lol just for looks lol? Anyone else ever thought of this? Or tryed it?

Plug chop.
Warm up motor to operating temp.
Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.
Switch off the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.
Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.
Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.
There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.
If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.
If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.
I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

This is a good to go plug.
This one is a little rich, but I would run it, I like to be on the safe side.
You have to get up a reasonable speed so that you can get the motor to pull strongly.
Then hold it Wide Open Throttle (WOT) for 10 secs or as long as you can.
The idea is not to get speed but to make it pull strong at full throttle to get onto the main jet curcuit.
I find I can safely do it on a short run by applying the brakes some.
If you have not enough room you can use 4th or 5th gear with good results.

Thanks I will do this. I gots lots of room my county lets you drive on the roads aslong as you have a orv stcker.
Right now I live in madison wi but all my toys are at home in evart Michigan by reed city, mt. Pleasant. I moved over here to madson for my job but I will move back to Michigan in year or two
alrighty got the case sepperated everything is just about out. only thing left is a snap ring that holds the transmission in. the only tool in this damn shop we dont here lol.

alright shes all done all thats left to do is a leak down test and a plug chop when i get it back in
hell yea we do me and few of my other friends are hitting the dunes. where at in northin michigan are you? i from a small town of evart
got the quad running today. i did the leak down test and it passed. going to wait till the summer time to do a plug chop just becuz it so darn cold out side but the quad ran fine and shifted great. it even did some nice doughnuts in the drive lol
Unless you have jetted for our cold don't ride until it warms up A LOT !!

Tell you what, detonation is not going to wait until summertime it is going to happen everytime the piston gets close to TDC.
Take good notice of the marks made by donutting you may not see them again for a while if you do not rejet and plug chop to confirm!

Blaaster I figured I would wait till they start runinng summer blend gas to do the plug chop and I wont be riding it till then anyways
