Fiance's Full Rebuild

it says 0.3 i have sprayed leak tester and almost everything... the only place i haven't sprayed yet is the clutch side of the engine
i am running the test again... it looked like there was just a tiny bit of bubbles around the bottom of the cage... tightened just up to 75in/lbs

.3 psi. loss over 5 minutes is almost negligable and is so small and slow it may not produce bubbles ?
i'd run it.

That sounds good to me!!! i just kept on reading that there shouldn't be any leak whatsoever over the 5 minutes...???

Perfection is no leak at all, but where do you draw the line, maybe the crank is in such a place where a little wear will allow a minute leak while stationary but seal whilst in motion.

If there are no leaks around the reeds and carb boot or any in the crakcase joins, the leak could be in the tester itself, it has been known that a pressure gauge to leak internally.

Providing the idle can be adjusted within specs, and a plug chop proves satisfactory, then go for it.

Re test for leaks soon or if there is any doubt that there is a problem.

This is a situation where us oldies have the advantage over you young uns, we can often call on our experience to call it a go, or a no go.

agreed...test it agian soon.
I'd get that engine up to operating temps, maybe even the heat cycles and retorque them head, base and intake bolts, then give the leakdown another test, after everything has expanded/contracted, to see if that helps or hurts this very small leak.
better safe than sorry.

Slip a post in the wanted section for more replies on the clutch basket.

I just tried to do that and it said I didn't have permission to post there... I have over 30 posts, and supporting member... so probably just need the moderator or whoever approves people to post there, to allow me access.

Ok maybe i lied... i didn't know the difference between supporting and donating.. now i am a supporter lol

I do not need a clutch basket anymore... somehow I had too thick of a washer behind the clutch basket... luckily i had a crap motor that was beat up and had the right washer!!!

nice find and save bro !
that has happened before to a few members, usually when someone thinks they can just get any old washer down at the local ace hardware for that......NOT !

the weird thing is that this washer was on the motor when i got it... granted the motor was bad and just needed a new bore and piston...hahaha dont think they went very far.

maybe they fried it by over revving it trying to go somewhere ?
